In an effort to raise funds to aid residents of Kerr County, Texas, following the devastating floods over the July 4th weekend, the Levelland Breakfast Rotary Club is partnering with 806 Cornhole to stage a Cornhole Tournament Aug. 10 in Levelland.
The tournament will be held at the St. Michael Catholic Church Parish Hall beginning at 1 p.m. and is open to all beginners and experienced players. Entry fee is $20 per individual.
“We are hosting this fundraising event with the goal of raising critical funds and awareness for ongoing disaster relief in Kerrville caused by the recent floods,” said Anthony Castellano with 806 Cornhole, the tournament organizer.
“Considering the challenges faced by those impacted, financial assistance has emerged as one of the most urgent needs to secure shelter, clothing and other daily necessities.”
All proceeds from the event will go towards the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund with the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country. A food vendor will also be on site with proceeds supporting the fund.
“The Breakfast Rotary Club is excited to support this effort to help provide disaster relief to the residents of Kerr County,” said Albert Garcia, club president. “This will be a single competitor tournament, and we welcome all cornhole enthusiasts who want to help out to come participate.”
Castellano said that there are already 20 competitors who have committed to the tournament.
Registration can be made on the Scoreholio app or in person the day of the tournament.
Tournament plaques will be presented to the winners. St. Michael Parish Hall is located at 318 E. Washington.
