City of Levelland announces prohibited sign remdinder ahead of garage sale season

The City of Levelland is providing a reminder for community members regarding prohibited signs.

The following is prohibited: Any sign attached to any tree, shrub, public light fixture, utility poles, public telephone poles, public buildings (other than an on–premises attached sign), fences, or railings.

No sign or any part of the sign structure may be located on or above or encroach upon any street, alley, park, or any other public right-of-way.

This prohibition relates to all signs, including without limitation, the following: temporary signs of any kind, signs and placards applied to poles or any structure within a right-of-way, including utility poles and boxes, & any temporary sign within railroad right-of-way, except for identification, warning, and contact information placards applied by the owning utility. The prohibited sign(s) mentioned above include but are not limited to political, election, for sale, garage sale, advertisement signs, etc.

If signs are in violation according to the previously mentioned, the city of Levelland can exercise its right to remove said signs.
