Now the Lord said to Abram, “Get out of our country, from your family and from your father’s house to a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you and I will curse those who curse you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed. Genesis 12:1-3

When God choses to do something great in our lives, He calls us out from the familiar, from the place we feel comfortable and from our past. We will never get to experience the greatness of our destiny as long as we chose to stay in our comfort zone or continue to do the things the way we have always done them. I have heard that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Sometimes the people on our lives and the places and cultures we live in keep us from experiencing all God has for us. God had a plan for Abram’s life, He wanted to create a mew chosen nation that would be dedicated and consecrated to God, a nation founded on a relationship with God. Acts 7 tells us that God called Abram when he still lived in Mesopotamia and Abram obeyed God and left there but stopped to dwell in Hebron until his father died. After his father died, Abram took his nephew Lot and journeyed to the land God gave him as an inheritance. Abram did not initiate the relationship, God loved him and invited Abram into a lifelong journey of experiencing a personal relationship with God Himself. Deuteronomy 7:6 “For you (Israel) are a people holy to the Lord your God. The Lord your God has chosen you out of all the people on the face of the earth to be His people, His treasured possession.” God not only called Abram into a personal relationship with Him, God made Abram’s offspring into a nation, a chosen people with an unbreakable covenant with Him. Israel is still God’s chosen nation and the promise He made to Abraham is still true, “I will bless those who bless you and I will curse those who curs you and in you all the families will be blessed.” There are two nations that are based on the Love of God. One, Israel was based on God’s love for Israel and the United States of America was founded and based on our founding father’s love for God. Christians all around know the rich heritage that comes from being a descendant of Abrahams. They know the roots they have and the faithfulness of God towards Israel throughout time. Yes, the promises of God are relevant to the church, those who love and accept Jesus as their personal savior and king. Galatians 3:29 “And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” As American Christians, we understand our Judeo-Christian heritage, but too many do not understand the rich heritage God has given the United Sates of America. Just as Israel was founded on Abraham’s obedience, the land the United States was founded on was based on the relationship Christopher Columbus had with God.

During my college years, I was an avid reader and my Grandmother had a book called The Light and the Glory by Peter Marshall. As I read the book, I was amazed how the hand of God guided the founding and birth of our nation. Contrary to modern history, Christopher Columbus did not happen to bump into the Americas while looking for a trade route to the Indies, he was led and taught of the Holy Spirit about the journey. In Christopher Columbus’ Book of Prophecies, he clearly defines the call and direction of God in the founding of the Americas. He wrote “It was the Lord who put into my mind (I could feel His hand upon me) the fact that it would be possible to sail from here to the Indies. All who heard of my project rejected it with laughter, ridiculing me, there is no question that the inspiration was from the Holy Spirit because He comforted me with rays of marvelous illumination form the Holy Scriptures.” Columbus understood the importance of the new lands he was led to, in his letter to Ferdinand and Isabella he wrote,

“Our Redeemer has given this triumph….for all of the Christendom should feel joyful and make great celebrations and give solemn thanks to the Holy Trinity…for the great exaltation which it will have on the salvation of so many peoples to our holy faith and secondly, for the material benefits, which will bring refreshment and profit.” Christopher Columbus was very prophetic when he said this new land would have” great exaltation on the salvation of so many people.” The United States of America has been the most instrumental nation in modern history in spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ around the world. He also understood the promise God made to Abraham, “in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed” applied to the Americas as well. We should be grateful and celebrate the honor we have been given to live in a land with such a rich heritage and destiny on it. The advisory understands the power a nation has to change the world and he has done a great job in deceiving many pastors and churches into believing the church has no business in the governing of the nation. The twisted belief that the founding fathers designed our nation as a separation of church and state has given the enemy a strong foot hold in our government and the demise in our Christian-Judeo values. The first amendment of our constitution states, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, or abridging the freedom of speech, of the press, or the right of the people peacefully assemble and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.” Our Constitution restricts congress from passing laws that mandate a designated religion and it also cannot prohibit our freedom to worship God. The Covid lockdowns of 2020 were unconstitutional. History and culture will try to water down truth and bring people into bondage of unconstitutional laws and practices. God called us into a personal relationship with Him and He called nations to govern people and to protect them. Psalm 33:12 “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, and the people He chooses for His inheritance.” 2 Thessalonians 2:7 “For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work, only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way.” I understand this is scripture is referring to the rapture of the Church, but I believe it is also relevant to the world we live in, the lawlessness one is working and the restrainer, the Church is keeping the lawless one from having complete control. Satan has done a great job of removing the restrainer (the church) from our national government and it is being reflected in the laws and legislation that our government is trying to implement. It is time for the Church to stand and take her place. Jesus told the parable in Luke 19 about the nobleman who went o n a journey to a far away country and before he left, he called his ten servants and told them, “Occupy till I come.” We have been given all authority (Matthew 18:18-20) and we are supposed to have dominion over everything (Ephesians 1:20-21).

Today is Constitution Day! As a nation we get to celebrate the wisdom our founding fathers were given as they set the governing of our nation into a document that has endured 236 years and set the precedence for the greatest government on earth. Sadly we are living in a time when people do not know the rights and responsibilities ensured by our Constitution and we have allowed the politicians that work for “We the People” to erode away those rights instead of standing up for what the Constitution guarantees. If we do not take a stand and hold our government accountable to the Constitution, we will lose the precious freedoms it ensures. When was the last time you read the Constitution? I heard some school districts have quit teaching cursive so the next generation cannot read the original constitution. We have a playroom in our house for our granddaughters and I decorated it in a patriotic theme with a picture of the constitution to help teach them to honor and be proud of the amazing heritage God has given us in the United States of America. Just like the Bible is the Believers’ guide and promises of the goodness of God and the Believer must know that the Bible says, the Constitution is the Americans’ road map to a healthy nation full of freedoms and the Citizens need to know how the Constitution designates power and sets limitations. As we than God today for all His many blessings, take time to thank Him for allowing you to live in this great nation and as Him what role you have to ensure the Constitution of the United States of America still guides and governs our nation. Happy Constitution Day!
