Just another day in par-radise

If you’re looking for a 24/7 access gym that also delivers golf lessons, look no further than The Garage Golf Club.

The business is run by Curran McAlister and it recently just officially opened on September 6. You can find it at 401 Ave H in Levelland. McAlister has always had a passion for golf, playing his whole life and even working in the industry before, so all it took was the spark of a simple conversation to start the business.

“One night my wife came in and asked me if I wanted to do anything, what would it be and this is the idea I came up with,” said McAlister.

Working as an assistant pro on a few courses several years back, McAlister realized he enjoyed the teaching aspect, which is something he began to miss.

“To corporate fitness and coaching and letting people come in and out as they please to hit on their own and get better that was something I was really interested in,” said McAlister.

McAlister currently works for Chem Tech Services here in Levelland and built this store as a side hustle, which is for anyone to join. If you enjoy golf or a late night work out, go and check it out. It’s extremely easy to apply for a membership through their FaceBook page.

As soon as you sign up you will get a door code and will automatically have 24/7 gym and golf access.

There are four memberships you can choose from, the first is the “Practice Pass” which features 24/7 gym and golf access, then a family add-on for only $30 per family member, a 5% discount on golf lessons for $99 a month.

The second is the “Fully Swing,” which features 24/ 7 gym and golf access, 10% off golf lessons, $40 guest pass for the day and a family add-on for $25 per family member for $125 a month.

The third is the “All Access,” which features 24/ 7 gym and golf access, 15% off golf lessons, $25 guest pass for the day, family addon $20 per family member and discounted special events for $175 a month.

The last one is the “Corporate All Access,” which includes 24/7 gym access and unlimited golfing, three person membership, 15% off golf lessons and $150 add-on fee for additional members for $500 a month.

McAllister also offers day passes for $60 with a limit of four hours on the golf simulator.

Once he builds a bigger member base, McAlister wants to start hosting events and competitions. He's also very passionate about having junior golfers to get the training they need at a reasonable cost.

“I think it’s more than a golf facility. We want it to be something really fun for everybody but especially kids and junior golfers,” said McAlister. “I want them to be able to get better because I know that barriers to entry can be expensive. I’d love to build that connection and see where it goes.”
