LHS WATER FIELD TRIP-- Levelland High School biology class students taught by D'Nae Wilson explored the importance of the Levelland Playa Lakes through hands-on science and community service. Her students worked with Keep Levelland Beautiful to pick up the trash around the lakes, and then they collected soil samples to study playa macroinvertebrates and then wrapped up their Playa Lake study by watching the Hockley County Water Conservation “The Rain We Keep” videos. Students visiting the Levelland Playa Lakes included Gabel Cason, Braylon Del Campo, Aron Melendez, Darian Rico Serna, Mitchell Key, Ezekiel Coronado, Eli Luna, Curtis King, Jacob Cisneros, Natalia Pena, Jade Baeza, Eduardo Perez Garcia, Isabel Canales, Jurney Hernandez, Katelyn Mendoza, Kade Gregory, Jessi Slape and M.J. Niederhauser.
