Levelland ISD held their 2025 District Spelling Bee Monday in the LMS Auditorium. LMS sixth-grader Caleb Willey won the contest by spelling the word 'hopscotch.' The Bee went for 15 rounds. The runner-up was South fourth-grader Kaelynn Cuevas. Caleb will move on to compete at the Regional Spelling Bee later this month in Lubbock. If he wins there, he will move on to compete at Washington DC. Spelling Bee chairs Morgan Combs, Amy Pebsworth, and Mixie Clowe put in extra hours to prepare the student spellers. Spelling Bee judges were Donna Pugh, Stacey Waddill and LaGayle Stephenson.
