SALVATION ARMY APPRECIATION DAY - The Progressive Women's Club presented a check to the Salvation Army to help with mission projects. The money was earned from the PWC Annual Christmas Home Tour. In conjunction, Thursday May 15, was Salvation Army Appreciation Day in Levelland. The Army Emergency Response Canteen provided a lunch of tacos, pies and drinks to the community of Levelland. South Plains College names Jamie Miller as 2025 Vera Sue Spencer Award recipient

LEVELLAND – Jamie Miller of Athens, Georgia, has been named the 2025 recipient of South Plains College’s Vera Sue Spencer Award. Miller received the award during the Spring 2025 morning commencement ceremony on May 9 in the Texan Dome.
HONOR BEFITTING A LION - On Saturday May 10, Katie Ervin of the Levelland Evening Lions Club was honored with the fourth highest award that can be given to a Lion. A certificate of Appreciation: in recognition of distinguished achievements in Fulfilling the Mission of Lions Club International, signed from the International President of Fabricio Oliveira (2024-2025). Last Sunday we went to our daughter’s for Mother’s Day for our grandson’s baby dedication. Their pastor spent the sermon talking about the unique bond that a mother and child have, the important role a mother’s role and, the influence that she has on her child.
