A Smyer woman is was pronounced dead after a crash Sunday afternoon east of Levelland following a two vehicle motor vehicle accident.
At 3:22 p.m., the Hockley County Sheriff’s Office, Levelland Fire Department, Levelland EMS and Texas Department of Transportation responded to E Highway 114 in regards to a two vehicle wreck.
A DPS report states Neecy Ann Reyna, 40, of Smyer was transported to Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock with serious injuries. Reyna was later pronounced deceased as a result of the injuries sustained during the crash.
Santa Cruz Reyna Jr., 44, of Smyer was transported to Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock with serious injuries.
Leslie Wayne Smith, 62, of Levelland was treated for for her injuries and released while on scene.
The report states Neecy Renya who was driving, attempted to exit the driveway of a business located along the highway. A pick-up truck operated by Smith was heading west when the Reyna’s vehicle pulled into its path. The two vehicles crashed in the roadway.
Levelland and Hockley County Emergency Management issued a mass notification explaining that traffic was being diverted down Veretto Road as emergency responders tended to the scene. Around 7 p.m. it was reported that the scene had been cleared and the roadway was opened for normal traffic flow.
