Hockley, Cochran Primary Proposition results

Following the 2024 March Primary Election, the 13 Republican Ballot Propositions are not considered policy referendum but are statements voters either agree with or disagree with.

The Hockley County and Cochran County results for the 13 propositions are included.

Proposition 1

In Hockley County, there were 2,642 voters who said yes, Texas should eliminate all property taxes without increasing Texans’ overall tax burden, while 680 voters said no.

In Cochran County, there were 298 voters who said yes, Texas should eliminate all property taxes without increasing Texans’ overall tax burden, while 87 voters said no.

Proposition 2

In Hockley County, there were 3,012 voters who said yes, Texas should create a Border Protection Unit, and deploy additional state law enforcement and military forces, to seal the border, to use physical force to prevent illegal entry and trafficking, and to deport illegal aliens to Mexico or to their nations of origin. There were 202 voters who said no.

There were 36 voters who said no.

Proposition 3

In Hockley County, there were 2,868 voters who said yes, the Texas Legislature should require the use of E-Verify by all employers in Texas to protect jobs for legal workers by preventing the hiring of illegal aliens, while 310 voters said no.

In Cochran County, there were 337 voters who said yes, the Texas Legislature should require the use of E-Verify by all employers in Texas to protect jobs for legal workers by preventing the hiring of illegal aliens, while 45 voters said no.

Proposition 4

In Hockley County, there were 2,777 voters who said yes, the Texas Legislature should end all subsidies and public services, including in-state college tuition and enrollment in public schools, for illegal aliens. There were 399 voters who said no.

In Cochran County, there were 331 voters who said yes, the Texas Legislature should end all subsidies and public services, including in-state college tuition and enrollment in public schools, for illegal aliens. There were 54 voters who said no.

Proposition 5

In Hockley County, there were 2,694 voters who said yes, Texas urges the United States Congress not to grant any form of amnesty or a pathway to legalization for illegal aliens. There were 455 voters who said no.

In Cochran County, there were 330 voters who said yes, Texas urges the United States Congress not to grant any form of amnesty or a pathway to legalization for illegal aliens. There were 58 voters who said no.

Proposition 6

In Hockley County, there were 2,595 voters who said yes, the Texas Legislature should prohibit the deployment of the Texas National Guard to a foreign conflict unless Congress first formally declares war. There were 527 voters who said no.

In Cochran County, there were 326 voters who said yes, the Texas Legislature should prohibit the deployment of the Texas National Guard to a foreign conflict unless Congress first formally declares war. There were 54 voters who said no.

Proposition 7

In Hockley County, there were 2,293 voters who said yes, the Texas Legislature should establish authority within the Texas State Comptroller’s office to administer access to gold and silver through the Texas Bullion Depository for use as legal tender. There were 662 voters who said no.

In Cochran County, there were 279 voters who said yes, the Texas Legislature should establish authority within the Texas State Comptroller’s office to administer access to gold and silver through the Texas Bullion Depository for use as legal tender. There were 80 voters who said no.

Proposition 8

In Hockley County, there were 2,989 voters who said yes, the State of Texas should ensure that Texans are free to give or to withhold consent for any vaccine without coercion. There were 195 voters that said no.

In Cochran County, there were 365 voters who said yes, the State of Texas should ensure that Texans are free to give or to withhold consent for any vaccine without coercion. There were 23 voters that said no.

Proposition 9

In Hockley County, there were 2,285 voters who said yes, the Republican Party of Texas should restrict voting in the Republican Primary to only registered Republicans. There were 836 voters that said no.

In Cochran County, there were 273 voters who said yes, the Republican Party of Texas should restrict voting in the Republican Primary to only registered Republicans. There were 104 voters that said no.

Proposition 10

In Hockley County, there were 2,876 voters who said yes, the Texas Constitution should be amended to restore authority to the Texas Attorney General to prosecute election crimes. There were 257 voters who said no.

In Cochran County, there were 341 voters who said yes, the Texas Constitution should be amended to restore authority to the Texas Attorney General to prosecute election crimes. There were 32 voters who said no.

Proposition 11

In Hockley County, there were 2,336 voters who said yes, Texas parents and guardians should have the right to select schools, whether public or private, for their children, and the funding should follow the students. There were 851 voters who said no.

In Cochran County, there were 296 voters who said yes, Texas parents and guardians should have the right to select schools, whether public or private, for their children, and the funding should follow the students. There were 93 voters who said no.

Proposition 12

In Hockley County, there were 3,119 voters who said yes, the Texas Constitution should be amended to require proof of citizenship before any individual can be registered to vote. There were 92 voters who said no.

In Cochran County, there were 372 voters who said yes, the Texas Constitution should be amended to require proof of citizenship before any individual can be registered to vote. There were 18 voters who said no.

Proposition 13 In Hockley County, there were 3,086 voters who said year, Texas should ban the sale of Texas land to citizens, governments, and entities from China, Iran, North Korea, and Russia. There were 121 individuals.
