Hockley County is proud to show its support for veterans through Operation Green Light, a nationwide program promoted through the National Association of Counties (NACo) and the National Association of County Veterans Service Officers (NACVSO) designed to let Veterans know they are seen, appreciated, and supported. In the spirit of Operation Green Light, Hockley County has illuminated the courthouse in green. The significance of the green light is a message of hope, renewal, and well-being. “We are committed to supporting our Veterans year-round and through Operation Green Light,” said Hockley County Judge Sharla Baldridge. “We understand that our Veterans have made great sacrifices for our country, and we want to make sure that they know they are appreciated and supported by Hockley County.” Operation Green Light runs November 6th-12th. Businesses and homeowners are encouraged to replace an outdoor light with a green light to show their support. The Hockley County Veterans Breakfast will take place on Saturday, November 11th at 9 a.m. at the South Plains College PE Complex (East side of SPC Dome). Raffle items for the breakfast are donated by the West Texas Woodworkers. This event is free for Veterans, their families, and friends.
