The holiday season is here and Christmas is a handful of days away and members of the Levelland community will be spending the holiday with family, friends and great company.
For Cole Kirkland and his family, they are expecting a new family member in the beginning of January.
“What I want for Christmas is my wife and baby to wrap up the year healthy and have great Christmas with our family,” said Kirkland.
For Kirkland and his family, 2022 has been a chaotic year and he hopes they are able to settle down and enjoy their end of the year with a new healthy baby and bigger family.
“Our two boys will be getting a little sister soon and I can’t ask for much more than a healthy family,” explained Kirkland.
Kirkland and his family plan to split Christmas Eve and Christmas Day between his family and his wife’s family.
For Dani Muniz, she’s enjoying her holiday break from Levelland High School. Spending her break working at United Supermarkets in Levelland and hanging out with her friends, all she wants for Christmas is to relax and have fun.
“There isn’t much I can think of that I want this year, other than a fun holiday break with my family and friends,” said Muniz.
Muniz will be spending her Christmas break and Christmas Day in the comfort of her room, watching movies and waiting for all the good food during the Christmas dinner.
For Brandon Anderson, he wants to get back to basics and celebrate the meaning of the holiday.
“To me, it’s all about celebrating and bringing peace on earth and good will towards man,” said Anderson. “I think if we went back to that philosophy, we could be feeling a lot better moving forward.”
Anderson is looking toward spending some quality time with his family during the Christmas break and getting to relax.
“I’m excited to spend some time with my family and celebrate Christ’s birth,” said Anderson.
During the Christmas break, Anna Garza will be traveling to Colorado to spend some time with family.
“The only thing I want for Christmas is to have safe travels to see my family and be able to enjoy their company,” said Garza. “I think the most important thing for not only me or my family is to wish everyone be healthy and have the ability to enjoy Christmas.”
Once in Colorado, Garza will be getting spend quality time in the mountains with her grand daughters and her son.
“I’m looking forward to spending time with my son and getting to play with grand daughters,” explained Garza.
Donavan Morales is eager to spend some time with his family this year during the holiday.
For Christmas, he’s looking forward to Santa bringing him a few car parts as that is one of the passions he enjoys.
Working on his car or doing it for others, the car enthusiast is excited to take some time off to enjoy the company of his family and car friends.
Captain Mateo Lopez is eager to spend some time with his wife and his Christmas wish is to have a healthy family.
“I think the biggest thing for me is being able to be with my family and have that feeling of joyfulness and holiday spirit,” said Lopez.
Other than the materialistic things, having family and friends to spend the time with is what Lopez feels is important.
With time off for the holiday, Lopez is excited to spend some quality time with his son and get to enjoy his company.
