The warmer weather has finally found us and has continued to stay for the most part. I couldn’t be happier, unless the wind managed to calm down a bit.
Enjoying an 80 degree day without chewing on dirt sounds like paradise.
For Hockley County, I encourage community members within the boundaries and our surrounding neighbors to be cautious of their surroundings regarding grass fires.
For the better part of this week and last week, we have been under a red flag warning and nothing is more common than these west Texas winds.
From my understanding we have plenty of fuel in the fields around us to cause quite the stir, but hopefully we can catch a break for this season.
Please keep in mind our first responders and firefighters who are the ones who have to handle these fires and unfortunate events.
Now that spring is in full effect, it feels like there is more going on in the community and thats exciting.
Hopefully everyone can get outside and enjoy a bit of sunshine.
