ANOTHER DAY WITH DOM!

It has been a while since I have had the space to put a column in one of our issues, but I hope all of our readers and subscribers have been well.

For our staff here at the News-Press we have been rolling this Fall as this is our busiest time with various events, magazines and special sections. We are ramping up our efforts for our annual Fall magazine this month, so subscribers and ad partners can be on the lookout for us putting that together toward the beginning of November.

Time has been flying for us as we are getting closer to the end of the first semester for our school districts.

While it is a lot of work, it is nice that we know there are things that need to be covered and we can kind of map out our game plan. When the summer hits is when we are having to rack our brains on how we furnish a publication because things become so quiet and calm.

I’d like to wish our school district athletes and extracurricular students the best as they get closer to wrapping up their fall semester of activities. From volleyball, football, cross country and band, we are in the final stretch and that means the final stretch of Fall activities for a handful of our seniors in Hockley and Cochran County.

With helping in the sports department, I have been able to keep my eye on a lot of these seniors and I have seen how hard they work in their respective activity. It is always a great thing to see students grow as people to the point where they begin their next stage in life post high school.

For myself, I am only beginning as my little boy began Pre-K this year. We are working on our smile before picture day because his smile will get a laugh out of anyone right now. Luckily the good days have outnumbered the rough days and I keep telling him we have only begun.

It is a busy time for parents, but I hope you all continue to enjoy the busy schedules. I have a lot of years left before my little doesn’t need me to drive him around anymore, but I know time fly’s and it will go by in a blink of an eye.
