We are currently in the middle of a busy time for us at the News-Press with various events we cover, but that is not limited to the general election slated for May.
I want to congratulate everyone who has put their name on the ballot for the respective position they are seeking. I have nothing but respect for those individuals who feel they would like to serve their community whether it be a school board, city council or county position. It takes a lot of courage to even take that first step and a lot more to put in the leg work to earn the position.
We hear a lot of individuals voice their discontent with how elected leaders go about their job, yet they do nothing to right those wrongs and complain in an inefficient manner that does not bear results.
As we get closer to the election in terms of early voting and voting day itself, I will be setting times to sit down with the candidates and put together features throughout the next month or so.
An example I can give is having features for all the candidates for the City of Levelland mayor position in one issue all together in separate features. My plan is to do something similar for all positions on the ballot that community residents can expect to see when it comes time to cast their votes.
