This spring break has been on the colder side temperature wise, but the jump forward in time has been the highlight of my week so far.
Having more daylight in the evening feels better to me.
I remember being in school and my mother would make me go to bed while the sun was still out at 8 p.m. and I felt like the world was passing me by while I laid in bed watching the sun seep through my window shades.
Now, I am sitting in the front yard and just soaking in peace and quiet with the extra light we have now.
Perks of living out in the county is the peace and quiet with an unfiltered view of a west Texas sunset and open field.
A little neat side note about living in the area I am in is there is a family of peacocks that roam around the little neighborhood.
Now, I am by no means a peacock expert but I think the parents have what I would consider about four teenage boys and two young baby boys.
Their feathers are amazing when they are spread out.
My mom has collected a lot of their feathers that they loose and filled a vase with them.
They could be standing on the roof of your house, roof of your car or any object that offers them height.
It’s a nice feeling getting to take a break and breathe for a bit. I encourage everyone to stop the husttle and busttle of life everyday to breathe for a second and take a nice deep breathe. It will get you right.
Since spring is right around the corner, I am formulating a plan for some projects around the house.
I feel like typing out that sentence aged me by a few decade or two, but I am looking forward to working on my home.
I’ve always enjoyed and prided myself in taking care of my possessions and as an adult with a home that I have control over, I am eager to start working on it and making it my paradise.
Plans are always great and dreaming big is fun, but the price of materials, lumber and various things I need to get the ball rolling makes me want to invest heavily in the lottery.
I’ve got plans for this weekend to start small with my shovel and a bucket in hand.
