The Austin Street Church of Christ pantry is still open in spite of shortages at the South Plains Food Bank.
“We’ve had some trouble getting food from the food bank,” said Austin Street minister Jay Kelley, “but our members have stepped in to fill the gap.”
Kelley also said the church has been able to get a better selection recently.
The pantry hours are 10 a.m. – noon and 2-4 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. There are income requirements and people can come once a month, even if they are getting help elsewhere also.
