Ramon Rodriguez hosted a barbeque contest at Renegade Saturday, August 11-12.
Overall, the group had many participants in the contest such as Falcon Energy, Graco, Key Energy, Sundown Tubing Testing, Petro Plant, Permian, Valor, Butch’s Rat Hole and Anchor Service, Danny Randolph, Foundation Trucking, Rooster Wireline, Legacy Safety, Lewd and Tattooed, and Rose Equipment.
The event had 11 team’s make brisket and ribs to be judged with only three winners being voted by an overall score.
Butch’s took home first place and Sundown Tubing Services and Renegade tied for second and third place.
The winning teams took home prizes that Legacy Safety had donated to the winners of the contest. Afterwards, food was offered to everyone along with an area to relax and eat. The event raised $5,200 dollars with all the companies writing checks.
The money money went toward SPECO and what they do as an organization.
The judges were SPECO employees Kelly Kelley, Gloria Gamez, Keely Kent, Tara Cathey, Robin Baccus, and Yolanda Murillo. Afterwards, pictures were taken with the winners and all the groups that came out and participated. The money raised is going to SPECO and helping not only the teachers and admin, but the students as well and everything they can do to make it easier for them to teach and learn.
