RIBBON CUTTING– The Hockley County Food Box celebrated its grand opening at its new location, with a celebratory Chamber ribbon cutting, First Non-profit Dollar presentation and refreshments Thursday afternoon. The Food Box relocated to the South Plains Community Action Association building, located at 410 Houston Street, in September of 2022. Powell followed the ribbon cutting with a dedication to Jean Duncan, founder and cornerstone leader of the Hockley County Food Box, as well as, recognizing other founding members, Board members and volunteers for their dedication and hard work towards the program. Refreshments and a tour followed. The Hockley County Food Box hours of operation are from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
