The tree lighting will begin at 6 p.m Following the tree lighting, the Christmas Parade will begin at roughly 6:15 p.m. The parade will begin by making its way through campus, turning North on College Ave. and heading down the road to Houston Street with Santa in the lead.
Community members are encouraged to stop by the gazebo located on the Hockley County Courthouse lawn and get a free ticket from The Levelland Marigolds to see Santa. When the ticket color lights up, it’s that individuals turn to get in line.
Meanwhile, the LISD choirs will be performing. There will be food trucks, hot cocoa, student activity booths, a soft fun kooshy snowball fight and a performance by The Grinch. Give aways, food options, bounce houses and lots of games also be available for the community.
Every float is also allowed to setup a vendor booth if they choose to as well. For this year, the theme is “West Texas Christmas: Festival of Light’s Christmas on the Square.”
