Neighborhood enhancement is everyone’s business and responsibility. Maintaining livable neighborhoods requires the partnership and participation of all residents.
The City of Levelland ordinances are intended to benefit everyone while making our neighborhoods a better place to live, work and play. The city ordinances and codes are minimum standards designed to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the residents and your neighborhood, and non-compliance is punishable by fine up to two thousand ($2,000) dollars.
It is the city’s intention to encourage compliance and not impose penalties. With the recent rains vegetation/weeds will be growing quickly. Weeds shall include all types of vegetation growing or accumulating on any property, whether alive or dead, other than maintained lawns, shrubbery and decorative plants, and gardens and crops under cultivation. Weeds over 6 inches are a violation of city ordinances, and property owners and tenants are responsible for keeping their lawns mowed and clippings clear from any public place including streets, alleys and other private property. For any questions or concerns please contact the Inspections Department at 806568-5442, and thank you for your cooperation.
