The Hockley County Commissioners’ Court will hold a special meeting Monday at 9 a.m. in the Commissioners’ Courtroom at the Hockley County Courthouse.
Items on the agenda include: -Consider and take necessary action to approve the minutes of the special meeting held Feb. 13.
-Consider and take necessary actions to approve all monthly bills and claims submitted to the court dated through Feb. 27.
-Consider and take necessary action to approve the 2022 audit engagement letter from Atlas CMMS CPAs and Advisors PLLC.
-Consider and take necessary action to approve enrollment in the Texas Association of Counties free annual cybersecurity training course for county employees and elected officials who have access to a local government computer system or database as is mandated by Texas House Bill 3834.
-Consider and take necessary action to approve as valorem tax refunds.
-Consider and take necessary action to rescind prior approval by the court of item number seven, a previous agenda dates 2-13-2023 where the court approved the staffing agreement between Hockley County and Onin Staffing for hiring part time staff at the Mallet Event Center.
-Consider and take necessary action to approve the Official Bond and Oath of Wendi McNabb, Hockley County Justice of the Peace, Precinct one and Patiance Childers, Juvenile Probation Officer.
-Consider and take necessary action to approve the monthly reports due as per 114.044 local government code as submitted by the Hockley County District Clerk, Hockley County Clerk, Hockley County Auditor and Justice of the Peace Precincts one, two, four and five.
-Consider and take necessary action to award the bid for one new 2023 pickup truck, with no trade in, for use in Precinct two, to be delivered within 120 days.
- Consider and take necessary action to award the bid for four new 2023 pickup trucks, with no trade in, for use in Precinct three, to be delivered within 120 days.
-Consider and take necessary action to approve two road crossings for Windstream Communications LLC, one Samson Post Road and two Roughneck Road, both located in Precinct two.
-Convene into a closed executive session held pursuant to section 551.071(2) and 551.072, Texas Government Code for the Commissioners Court to consult with and seek advice from its attorney to deliberate the purchase, exchange, lease or value of real property if deliberation in an open meeting would have detrimental effect on the position of the government body in negotiations with a third person.
