Twelve talented performers have been selected to compete in the first ever Levelland’s Got Talent that will be held Saturday, Oct. 3 in the historic Wallace Theater in downtown Levelland.
Hosted by the Levelland Breakfast Rotary Club with presenting sponsor South Plains Community Action Partnership, the talent contest will showcase the vocal and instrumental skills of local and area performers who will be judged for top places and cash prizes.
“Our selection panel has put together a line-up of amazing talent from our community and beyond that will provide an entertaining evening for the entire family,” said Irene Tienda, president of the Levelland Breakfast Rotary Club. “Levelland’s Got Talent is the perfect way to cap the Falling for the Wallace Festival that will take place in downtown Levelland Saturday afternoon.”
The list of performers include Cindy Terzenbach, Peyton Sawyer, Dautry Waller, Dionna McWhorter, Evelyn Aguirre, Faith Guzman, Landon Morrison, Isalen Solano, Jaydi Sanchez, M.J. Neiderhauser, Rodney Murphree, and Kolt McDaniel.
General admission tickets are available at City Bank and Prosperity Bank and online at the Wallace Theater’s website for $20 per person. A small fee is applied to online ticket purchases. Breakfast Rotary Club members will also be selling tickets. Seating is limited.
The talent show is being held in conjunction with the Falling for the Wallace Festival that will take place in downtown Levelland Saturday. Doors will open at 7 p.m. with the show beginning at 7:30 p.m. Performance sponsors include City Bank, McDonald’s of Levelland, Hockley County Credit Union and Bill and Kay Powell.
The acts will be rated by a panel of judges and cash prizes of $250, $150, $100 will be awarded to the top three acts, respectively. The judging panel will include Levelland Mayor Breann Buxkemper, KCBD-TV news anchors Kase Wilbanks and Christy Hartin, and SPC creative arts music professors Emily and Brent Wheeler.
“We are planning a fun, family-oriented event that we hope will become a yearly favorite for the Levelland community,” said Tienda. “As a bonus, your admission ticket gets you one free bag of popcorn and a free soft drink from the Wallace Theater concession during the performance.”
Talent Sponsors for the show include Prosperity Bank, Robertson & Agnew Plumbing and AC, Maverick Bank, Tanner Terrell Financial Advisor, Paxton Real Estate, AgTexas Farm Credit Service, and South Plains College.
