The Hockley County Commissioners’ Court held a regular meeting Monday morning, taking care of a short agenda list.
The court voted to award the bid for the bank depository for Hockley County to First Bank and Trust for four a year contract.
The First Bank and Trust contract proposed a 4.86 variable on checking accounts, no fees except for checks and deposit slips and no fees unless the county adds new services which would then open a discussion.
The court received three bids from First Bank and Trust, City Bank and Sundown State Bank.
The court approved all bills and claims submitted to the court dated through April 17 and approved the minutes of the regular meeting held at 9:00 a.m. April 3.
The court voted to approve the appointment of board members to the Child Welfare Board.
There are currently nine members; the minimum allowed is seven members.
The court approved the 2023 Joint Election Agreement and the 2023 Interlocal Agreement between the following entities: Hockley County and Smyer ISD, Hockley County and Ropesville ISD, Hockley County and Sundown ISD, Hockley County and Anton ISD, Hockley County and the City of Levelland, Hockley County and the City of Sundown, Hockley County and the City of Ropesville and Hockley County and South Plains College.
The court reviewed the fire runs as submitted by the City of Levelland and approved the monthly reports submitted by the Hockley County District Clerk, county clerk, county auditor and Justice of the Peace for Precincts one, two, four and five.
The court approved the Continuations Certificate for the following people: Jeanette Jeffcoat Mallet Event Center office administrator; Annisten Sandlin Mallet Event Center banquet hall coordinator; Ann Marie Doshier deputy tax assessor and Tammy Lynn Doshier deputy county clerk.The court took action to approve the Official Bond and Oath for Pamela Dee Kiser deputy clerk at the Hockley County Clerk’s Office.
