Deadline for voter registration Oct. 5

County residents who wish to vote in the Nov. 3 General Election must be registered by Monday, Oct. 5.

The Hockley County Elections Office encourages all eligible Texans to register or verify their registration status now to ensure they are prepared to cast a ballot.

Texas law requires voters to be registered 30 days before Election Day.

“Every eligible Texan deserves the opportunity to make their voice heard,” said Jody Rose, election administrator of the Hockley County Elections Office. “We encourage residents to take a few minutes today to confirm their registration is current and accurate before the deadline passes.”

Texans can check their registration status and those who have recently changed their name or moved can update their voter registration online through VoteTexas.gov.

Texas residents who are not yet registered may obtain a voter registration application at any Texas Department of Public Safety office, public library, or by requesting one through the Hockley County Elections Office. A registration application to print, sign and mail can be found at VoteTexas.gov.
