Levelland Main Street, the Marigolds of Levelland, and South Plains College (SPC) are partnering to bring the annual Festival of Lights & Christmas on the Square Thursday, November 30.
The event begins at 6PM on the West facing lawn of the Levelland SPC Campus. Dr. Robin Satterwhite, President of SPC and Miss Caprock, Cailee Miller will join forces to bring the campus to life with Christmas lights.
Then at 6:15pm the Christmas parade will begin. The parade will wind through campus, turn north on College Ave. and head down College Ave. to Houston Street with Santa in the lead.
You can register to enter your Lighted Parade Float on the Levelland Main Street website at https://www.levellandtexas.org/ All student floats are eligible to win the $500 cash prize and all Commercial/Individual Floats are eligible to win the traveling trophy. Every float entry is also eligible to setup a FREE booth on the courthouse square during the event. Anyone selling food that is not prepacked, needs a permit from City Hall. Deadline for Judged entry is November 30, at 3pm.
The Marigolds will be handing out free tickets to see Santa at the courthouse gazebo. You will not have to wait in line this year, once it is your turn to see Santa your ticket will light up.
LISD choirs will provide entertainment throughout the night. There will also be food trucks, hot cocoa, student activity booths, a soft fun kooshy snowball fight, a performance by The Grinch, give aways, food options, bounce houses. and lots of games.
