Fire Report

6/17/2023 – DISPATCH 1:42 PM – CLEARED 1:53 PM – LEVELLAND

The fire department was dispatched to the 100 block of Gary Avenue in regards to a carbon monoxide detector being set off. Upon arrival, the homeowner advised fire personnel it was a faulty or dead battery, and she was able to turn it off. Fire personnel checked for carbon monoxide in the living and kitchen area before returning to service.

6/16/2023 – DISPATCH 2:13 PM – CLEARED 2:25 PM LEVELLAND The fire department received a call regarding a child locked in a running vehicle on the 100 block of 4 th Street. The dispatcher also contacted Bush Wrecker Service to respond. Upon arrival, Bush Wrecker had arrived to the scene and was able to unlock the vehicle and remove the child without any complications.

6/16/2023 – DISPATCH 6:00 AM – CLEARED 6:22 AM – HOCKLEYCOUNTY

The police department received a call from a reporting party stating his carbon monoxide monitor had gone off while he was driving between Kelly Road and FM 303 on Highway 114. Fire personnel drove the area and were unable to detect carbon monoxide.

6/12/2023 – DISPATCH 12:58 AM – CLEARED 1:25 AM – LEVELLAND

The fire department received a call from the Levelland Police Department stating that EMS requested assistance at Allsup’s on the 200 block of College Avenue. Upon arrival, fire personnel assisted with patient packaging and drove the ambulance to the hospital.

6/10/2023 – DISPATCH 11:32 AM – CLEARED 11:44 AM – HOCKLEYCOUNTY

The fire department received reports of a vehicle fire at the intersection of West State Highway 114 and Richmond Road at 11:32 a.m. While en route to the scene, fire personnel were notified that the fire was out. Upon arrival, fire personnel checked for any fire extension and determined the fire was out.

6/7/2023 – DISPATCH 4:17 PM – CLEARED 5:00 PM – HOCKLEYCOUNTY

The fire department received a call in reference of a small grass fire in the bar ditch near the intersection of the 6200 block of East FM 1585 and Hummingbird Road. Police department dispatch informed fire personnel that the Smyer Volunteer Fire Department was paged two times with no response and requested the Levelland Fire Department to respond. Upon arrival, fire personnel and deputies were unable to locate a fire in the area.

6/6/2023 – DISPATCH 7:18 PM – CLEARED 7:50 PM – LEVELLAND

A gas meter was struck in the alley near the 100 block of Elgin Avenue.

6/5/2023 – DISPATCH 5:39 PM – CLEARED – 5:50 – LEVELLAND

The fire department received a call for a possible structure fire on the 1800 block of Avenue I. Upon arrival, the possible smoke was determined to be sheet rock dust from a crew doing repairs.

6/2/2023 – DISPATCH 11:27 PM – CLEARED 11:31 – LEVELLAND

The fire department received a call from the police department stating a resident on the 500 block of Poplar Street could not get their cooktop to turn off. Upon arrival, fire personnel found the cooktop to be off.

6/2/2023 – DISPATCH 11:54 AM – CLEARED 11:59 – LEVELLAND

The fire department received a call reporting a dumpster fire on the 700 block of Cactus Drive. Upon arrival, fire personnel found someone to be cooking in their backyard and deemed everything to be okay before returning to the fire station.

6/1/2023 – DISPATCH 11:58 AM – CLEARED 3:22 – HOCKLEYCOUNTY

The fire department received reports of a possible structure fire on the 2900 block of Richmond Road. While en route, Whiteface units were also dispatched to the location. Upon arrival, fire personnel found smoke present and made an initial attack and searched for extension. After extinguishing the fire, personnel began to salvage and overhaul at the scene before releasing the scene to the homeowner.
