Hockley County Credit Union (HCCU), formerly known as HCSECU, has been serving the Levelland community for 70 years.
The HCSECU was charted in 1954 and has limited its field of membership to school employees and immediate family members.
Until 2023, HCSECU has opened up membership to other entities and to the community under their Booster Club Association.
During the ground breaking event, Vest shared his excitement for the growth of the credit union and what it means for the community and the businesss.
“The excitement is off the charts for us,” said Vest. “The community has been supporting us for 70 years and hopefully they continue to support us for another 70 years.”
As for the decision process regarding the new facility, Vest explained that the righting was on the wall years ago when the current space was beginning to fill up.
Having moved into the current offices 13 years ago, as time passed knew that more space would be needed and luckily the land next door became available.
Vest also explained that adding onto the existing building was the economical solution for the credit union.
