Join Us In Prayer

But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. I urge you in the sight of God who gives all life to all things, and before Christ Jesus who witnessed the good confession before Pontius Pilate. That you keep his commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ’s appearing, which He will manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man can see, to whom be honor and everlasting power. Amen. 1 Timothy 6:11-16

I was recently in a conversation with about ten people, both men and women present, and the subject of a teacher praying for class came up and one of the men very adamantly made a comment about it was not legal for a teacher to pray in school. I do not remember his exact comment, but what I left the conversation understanding is that he does not believe that a teacher can share their faith or pray for a student. While there are some people who I would not want praying over my children, I was a little taken back that he strongly felt it was wrong to allow our faith to be demonstrated in our public schools. When I asked him, who said a teacher could not pray. He replied that it was the law. I believe my comment was that God was higher than any manmade rule or ordinance. The conversation was civil even though people had differing opinions of several topics in the discussion. Jesus earthly ministry was spent confronting wrong doctrine and shedding light on the false beliefs that had crept into the Jewish community. Jesus lived a sinless life, but He did not compromise the Word of God or shrink back from sharing God’s Truth to everyone He had the opportunity to preach the Kingdom to. We live in a Republic where we elect officials to represent the people in Washington D.C, and make laws that benefit the people who they represent (Or that is how our country was designed to operate.) It is more challenging for us to understand a Kingdom. The definition of Kingdom: the territory of country subject to a king, an undivided territory under the dominance of a king. In the definition of kingdom, they listed the chapter of Psalm 145 and it says “I will extol You, my God, O King, and I will bless Your name forever and ever.” God is the supreme authority and He has called us to be ambassadors, one of highest rank, a diplomate, officer designated by the government as it represents the ruling government in a foreign state. In plain English, the are sent by the ruling king to represent him with his authority fully backing the ambassador. When the disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray in Matthew 6:9-13 Jesus started the prayer, “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” I think it is too easy to get stuck on the title of Father and we forget that He is our Heavenly King. Revelations 19:16 gives us a glimpse of Our reigning King Jesus when He comes to fight the final battle “He is clothed in a robe that is dipped in blood, and the name of which He is called is the Word of God, on His robe and on His thigh, He has a name written, King of Kings and Lord of Lords” Jesus is our conquering King and He has the final say and given us the ultimate authority and strategy to bring “His kingdom to come.” Believers were never created to surrender our God given Authority. If the Bible tells me to do something, I am responsible to obey, if God promises us authority, He will provide. I heard an old saying recently, “If I was the devil I would not be alarmed if a person got saved as long as they kept their new relationship in a neat tidy box on a street corner fussing with the other boxes on who had the best belief system. I would only be intimidated by the ones who refuse to keep in their light and power in a box called a church and instead carry their new light with them everywhere, exposing darkness and deception. Light is hard to contain outside of a building.” Jesus said we are to be a city set on a hill. Jesus said in Matthew 5:14-16 “You are the light of the world, A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives life to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” Sometimes our good works are acts of kindness, benevolence, but other times it is exposing darkness and defending the territories we have been assigned to. I know it can be uncomfortable to defend the land God has given us. Paul did tell us to put on the whole Armor of God in Ephesians 6. The enemy of our soul is sneaky and manipulative and he knows how to steal our inheritance without us realizing what he is doing.

In Numbers 22-24, Balaam was hired by King Balak to curse the blessed Children of Israel as they journeyed through the desert. Balaam’s first response was correct, “How can I curse what God has not cursed and how shall I denounce whom the Lord has not denounced?” Remember when Satan went before God in Job 1, and God was bragging on His servant Job and Satan said, “Have you not made a hedge around him, around his household and around all he has on every side?” Satan cannot curse what God has blessed, but Ballam knew how to get the Israelites to curse themselves. Since Satan has no ability to curse what God has blessed, they had to come up with a plan to get the people to curse themselves and leave a door open for the enemy to come in. They had a big party with lots of sex and idol worship and invited the Israelites to the join them. The sexual immorality and worship of false gods angered God and God destroyed whose who participated in such wickedness. Their rebellion offended the righteousness of God and it opened a door for the devil to have legal access to God’s chosen people. The ten commandments made it very clear that Gpd’s people are not to worship any false god. I Corinthians 6:13 warns us to “Flee sexual immorality. 1 Corinthians 5:19 that sexually immorality must be judged. Sadly in 1 Corinthians 5:1 sexual immorality was defiling even the church. It does not matter whether sexual immorality is fornication, adultery or homosexuality, it is contrary to God’s word and we are commanded to not participate in it. These two things were considered so detestable that the New Testament church fathers wrote often telling people to abstain from sexual immorality and things sacrificed to idols as well. There is only one way to Heaven and it is Jesus! He is the only way. The Bible does not teach to tolerate any other god. Jesus is the only way and we should not embrace or compromise with any teaching that is contrary to the truth.

On May 17 we rededicated America and Levelland back to God. To be One Nation under the true God. The enemy is now trying the same tricks he tried on the Israelites in Numbers 25. Someone is trying to bring in a drag show to our City Park the last Friday of June. The church has been given the authority over the enemy and what we bind on earth will be bound in heaven, We need to make this a serious matter of prayer and bind the attack of the enemy over our community. A sex parade is not appropriate no matter what a person’s sexual orientation is. Recently my mother was driving down her alley and there were two teenagers having sex behind a dumpster and that is not acceptable over. We need to Pray that no weapon formed against our community will prosper. Call your Cit officials and let them know we do not want this blatant rebellion in Levelland. I have heard that there is someone who has bought a school building in Levelland and plans on turning it into a mosque. I know for sure this is happening in Lubbock and am not sure if what people are hearing has to do with Lubbock or is also happening in Levelland. We need to stand against the false religions that do not believe in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Those of a Muslim believe hate the Jews, America and the Judean Christiam believes and will fight to destroy them. We are living in serious times even in Levelland Texas. We need to be praying For God’s kingdom to come, and His will be done. Armor up and pray to overcome the lies of the devil and that we do not fall into his trap. Greater is He who is in me than He who is in the world!
