Las Fidelis Study Club discuss flowers, bees during past meeting

Members of the Las Fidelis Study Club were treated to a program about flowers and bees Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at the home of Georgia Decker.

Wes Utley, Hockley County Extension Ag Agent, presented a program about the importance of bees and pollination in West Texas. This unique agency teaches Texans, wherever they live, research based knowledge to benefit families and communities . Their areas of expertise range from agriculture, horticulture and natural resources to nutrition and wellness for families and youth.

The club members were presented with enlightening information about the buzzing world of honey bees as well as the cultivation and gathering of honey. This focus is the State President’s theme and project regarding the importance of bees and pollination in West Texas.

After the presentation, Betsy Moreland and Georgia Decker served refreshments. Those attending were Dianne Bridges, Maxine Cook, Georgia Decker, Paula Dunn, Maggie Husen, Suzanne Leggitt, Betsy Moreland, Tina O’Conner, Fredda Schooler, Sandra Stephenson, and Jolene Sweeney.
