The Las Fidelis Study Club of Levelland celebrated Christmas in their December meeting.

Meeting in the Christmas decorated home of Georgia Decker, Las Fidelis members shared their Christmas traditions after a short business meeting.

In the business meeting, members were brought up to date on the status of gift bags for the children of the families being helped by Open Door, an organization that helps the homeless and victims of sex trafficking. T he holiday themed gift bags included: Crayola Crayons, Crayola play dough, coloring sheets featuring bees, Protect the Pollinators information, a bee puzzle, a wooden bee to color, as well as candy.

The bee information and bee items are included in an effort to support the major project of the GFWC Texas State President, Billie Williams.

Protect the Pollinators is the project them of President William’s administration. Bees are endangered due to several factors and over one hundred and fifty types of fruits and vegetables as well as other plants and trees depend on bees to provide pollination in order for them to continue to grow and produce.

Each member of Las Fidelis also brought a twenty dollar gift card to be given to mothers and fathers of the children in order for them to be able to Christmas shop for their own children. The gift bags and cards were delivered to Open Door December 14.

After the business meeting, the club members took turns talking about a family Christmas tradition. Often a tradition that started in their childhood and then was carried on with their own children.

After telling about their tradition with cute and sometimes funny stories, the person then passed out examples of something related to the tradition. Member quickly filled their gift bags to overflowing with Snow ball cookies, different kinds of candy including chocolate covered cherries, socks, Lifesaver booklets, hand made fabric hearts, a wooden Christmas tree decorated with buttons, a Christmas tree ornament of a Nutcracker, and even pineapple juice and a little pineapple upside cake.
