The City of Levelland is informing citizens that the Canadian River Municipal Water Authority (CRMWA) will be undergoing repairs next week.
As the primary water supplier, the CRMWA has notified the city due to certain circumstances, they are compelled to reduce the water supply to the City of Levelland for the week of March 4th. The CRMWA will be repairing the main trunk line that serves Levelland and Brownfield. They estimate that the line will be out of service for four to seven days.
The City of Levelland is informing the public that they havve the ability to store approximately 4 million gallons of water and will utilize city wells as needed.
“To help us during this time period, the city is requesting everyone to refrain from outdoor watering including the use of wells, washing their cars, or washing driveways/parking lots and sidewalks from March 4 through March 11,” said City Manager James Fisher. “The city understands that this is a big ask, but if we all work together, we can overcome this challenge.”
Repair work will begin Monday, March 4 and if everything goes according to plan, it should be completed Wednesday, March 6. It will take approximately 38 hours to refill the line once work is completed. The city will notify citizens once the line is back in service.
