Levelland cemetery cleanup set April 21

The first of three cemetery cleanups for the City of Levelland is slated for April 21.

Cemetery personnel need wreaths, easels, ornaments, and other objects not allowed to be removed from graves and temporary markers by April 21st. After April 21st , they will be removed by cemetery personnel.

Flower arrangements must be in an approved vase, and saddle arrangements are permitted on the upright markers only. City personnel will not dispose items in approved vases and markers.

For temporary markers: small flower arrangements must be picked up at the next available cemetery cleanup day which is three times a year, and or when a permanent memorial is placed. The flowers then must be moved into an approved vase on the memorial. Please refer to the cemetery rules for further information.

Stick flags are permitted on the grave, but not in the ground. No glassware, lights of any kind, fences, wood, concrete, iron, plastic, or paper items, curbing is not permitted around the spaces.

No gravel, brick, stone or artificial turf is allowed on the spaces. Wreaths and easels may be placed on spaces on Christmas, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day. Such wreaths and easels will be removed by Cemetery personnel one month after Christmas, and seven days for other holidays listed.
