Levelland Fire Report

4/24/2024 - DISPATCHED 2:22 P.M. - CLEARED 2:40 P.M. LEVELLAND The LFD received a report of a fire in the backyard of a residence in the 300 block of 5th Street. Upon arrival, fire personnel discovered the resident to be burning in the backyard. The resident was advised that burning within city limits was not allowed and asked the resident to put out the fire.

4/24/2024 - DISPATCHED 1:12 P.M. - CLEARED 1:55 P.M. HOCKLEYCOUNTY The LFD received a call of a fire near N. U.S. Highway 385 and Ontario Road. The report stated there was no flames in the area, mainly smoke. Upon arrival, fire personnel found a small pile of grass, burrs and trash burning no one around. The fire was extinguished as a result.

4/23/2024 - DISPATCHED 7:25 P.M. - CLEARED 9:30 P.M. HOCKLEYCOUNTY The LFD was dispatched two a wreck at the intersection of U.S. Highway 385 and Delaware Road. The department was advised that one vehicle had hit a tree and was one fire. The unit responding to the fire was informed that all occupants had cleared from the vehicle. Once on scene, fire personnel extinguished the fire before returning to the station.

4/17/2024 – DISPATCHED 9:22 P.M. – CLEARED 9:55 P.M. – LEVELLAND

The LFD received a report of a dog stuck under a shed in the 2000 block of Buffalo Drive. Once on scene, fire personnel began lifting the building to allow a path for the dog to escape. Once the dog was free, all personnel returned to the station.

4/17/2024 – DISPATCHED 9:09 A.M. – CLEARED 1:18 P.M. – HOCKLEYCOUNTY

The LFD was dispatched to the intersection of U.S. Highway 385 and FM 597 in regard to a two-vehicle wreck. While enroute, the unit in response could see smoke and requested additional resources. A milk truck was identified on its side and the engine compartment was on fire. Once the fire was extinguished, fire personnel remained on scene to provide additional resources.

4/15/2024 – DISPATCHED 7:47 P.M. – CLEARED 8:10 P.M. – HOCKLEYCOUNTY

The LFD received a report in reference to a grass fire near FM 300 and Evening Tower Road. Upon arrival, fire personnel located a small grass fire in a ditch. The fire was extinguished and returned to the station.

4/14/2024 - DISPATCHED 12:01 P.M. - CLEARED 12:20 P.M. -LEVELLAND

The LFD received a report of smoke in the 200 block of Oak Street. Fire personnel responded to the location and identified an individual with an outdoor fire pit.

4/13/2024 - DISPATCHED 6:38 P.M. - CLEARED 6:50 P.M. LEVELLAND The LFD received a report of a man stuck between a house and porch in the 1900 block of Cactus Drive. Upon arrival, fire personnel identified a man who had his arm entrapped in the porch. Levelland EMS began checking on the patient while the unit spread the porch away from the house until the arm was free.

4/12/2024 - DISPATCHED 4:03 P.M. - CLEARED 4:33 P.M. LEVELLAND The LFD was dispatched to a call on S. Highway 385 for an overhead power line that was struck and down on the highway stopping north and southbound traffic. The LFD assisted with traffic control until Excel Energy arrived on scene, were able to lift the line and repair damages.

4/12/2024 - DISPATCHED 8:26 P.M. - CLEARED 11 P.M. LEVELLAND The LFD responded to a structure fire in the 800 block of Avenue F. While enroute, smoke and flames were visible from the structure. Multiple units were used to extinguish the fire.

4/11/2024 - DISPATCHED 8:24 P.M. - CLEARED 8:32 P.M. LEVELLAND The LFD received a report of a gas smell from the 600 block of Poplar. An available unit drove through the area but could not identify any possible sources.
