6/16/2024 - DISPATCHED 9:04 A.M. - CLEARED 10 A.M. LEVELLAND The fire department received a call referencing a possible gas leak in the 1500 block of Avenue D. Dispatch advised Atmos had already been contacted. Fire personnel were able to locate the gas leak which was from a damaged line behind a residence. The gas flow was shut off at the meter and the fire unit remained on scene until Atmos arrived to repair the line.
6/14/2024 - DISPATCHED 11:55 A.M. - CLEARED 12:18 P.M. -LEVELLAND
The fire department received a report of a gas leak in the 200 block of Magnolia Street. A fire unit discovered a gas meter that had been ran over. An air monitor was used to scan for a gas leak but there was no indication of a leak. It was discovered that the maintenance man had shut off the valve on the supply. Atmos was notified.
6/14/2024 - DISPATCHED 8:48 A.M. - CLEARED 9:42 A.M. COCHRANCOUNTY The fire department was notified of a plane crash as Cochran County requested mutual aid. Crews arrived at the scene to set up a landing zone. Aero Care was canceled and the fire chief from Morton released all units.
6/13/2024 - DISPATCHED 6:24 P.M. - CLEARED 6:50 P.M. LEVELLAND The LFD received a call referencing a dumpster fire in the 100 block of 13th Street. Crews found a found fire and smoke coming from the dumpster with a large amount of trash. The fire was extinguished with no other areas surrounding the dumpster with damage.
6/13/2024 - DISPATCHED 6:45 P.M. - CLEARED 7:38 P.M. LEVELLAND The Levelland Fire Department received call referencing an unknown-type of low hanging utility line at the Stripes parking lot located at the intersection of High 114 and Highway 385. Fire personnel determined the hanging line to be a phone or cable line and was not an electrical power pole line. Contact was made with the company provider but a time table on arrival was not given. Dispatch also reported the same low hanging line had been reported earlier in the day with an unknown response from the company. An emergency contact for the provider was made available. The service provider advised they would attempt to temporarily relocate the low hanging line until it could be reassessed to determine which service provider is responsible for the line.
6/13/2024 - DISPATCHED 5 P.M. - CLEARED 5:25 P.M. LEVELLAND The LFD was requested to assist the Levelland Police Department with a subject. The unit responding provided a thermal imager. Once the subject was apprehended the LFD was cleared from the scene.
6/13/2024 - DISPATCHED 4:13 P.M. - CLEARED 4:59 P.M. HOCKLEYCOUNTY The LFD was dispatched to assist Levelland EMS on a cardiac arrest call in the 400 block of Evening Tower Road. The crew responding worked on the patient until care was transferred over to Covenant.
6/12/2024 – DISPATCHED 1:43 A.M. – CLEARED 2:20 A.M. – LEVELLAND
The Levelland Fire Department was notified of a motel room on fire at the Best Inn Texas Motel. Once on scene, fire personnel opened the door to the specific room with light smoke coming from the room. It was determined that the A/C unit was smoldering and was extinguished. Fans were turned on to clear out the smoke before removing the unit from the wall and was placed outside of the room. Fire personnel then scanned the wall for hot spots but did not locate any before returning to the station.
6/10/2024 - DISPATCHED 10:29 A.M. - CLEARED 10:50 A.M. -HOCKLEYCOUNTY The Levelland Fire Department received a call of an unknown fire at N. Barton Lane and Alaska Road. A fire unit located a pit on fire and made contact with the owner. The proper notification process was explained to the homeowner.
6/8/2024 - DISPATCHED 11:16 P.M. - CLEARED 11:40 P.M. LEVELLAND The LFD received a call reporting smoke in the 1500 block of Cactus Road. Fire personnel noticed smoke on arrival within the area, but eventually cleared out. The unit continued to drive throughout the area but could not find the source.
6/7/2024 - DISPATCHED 3:24 P.M. - CLEARED 3:40 P.M. LEVELLAND The LFD received a call referencing a child locked in a vehicle at the Taco Villa parking lot. While enroute, a family member was able to gain access inside the vehicle.
6/6/2024 - DISPATCHED 11:25 P.M. - CLEARED 12:15 A.M. HOCKLEYCOUNTY The Levelland Fire Department received a report of a grass fire near S. FM 303 and FM 301. Fire personnel were able to locate a small grass fire and extinguish it.
6/5/2024 - DISPATCHED 4:38 P.M. - CLEARED 5:10 P.M. HOCKLEYCOUNTY The fire department received a call the LPD regarding a second reported motor vehicle accident while on another call. The motor vehicle accident was reported to be near Alaska Road and N. U.S. Highway 385. The LFD cleared the first call before responding to the second. While enroute, they were cancelled by Smyer Volunteer Fire Department and Smyer EMS.
6/5/2024 - DISPATCHED 4:33 P.M. - CLEARED 4:38 P.M. HOCKLEYCOUNTY The LFD received a call reporting a motor vehicle accident near Alaska Road and N. U.S. Highway 385. Upon arrival, fire personnel found everyone out of the vehicle.
6/4/2024 - DISPATCHED 4:29 P.M. - CLEARED 5:15 P.M. HOCKLEYCOUNTY The fire department received a report of a tractor on fire at the intersection of Florida Road and N. U.S. Highway 385. Upon arrival, the tractor was still fully involved requiring fire personnel to extinguish the fire.
6/4/2024 - DISPATCHED 7:31 A.M. - CLEARED 8:15 A.M. HOCKLEYCOUNTY The fire department received a report of a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of FM 1294 and County Road. Once on scene, everyone involved was discovered out of the vehicles. Fire personnel remained on scene to aid in traffic control.
6/3/2024 - DISPATCHED 3:06 P.M. - CLEARED 6 P.M. HOCKLEYCOUNTY The fire department received a report of a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of E. FM 1585 and Mallard Road. Upon arrival, one vehicle was found on its side leaking fuel. Fire personnel secured the area while the leak was plugged.
6/2/2024 - DISPATCHED 2:52 P.M. - CLEARED 3:36 P.M. LEVELLAND The LFD responded to the 100 block of Alamo Road after a report of arcing. Fire personnel checked the electrical panel and meter base but could not find any signs of arcing. Lamb Co Electric was notified and a crew arrived to pull the fuses from the transformer.
6/1/2024 - DISPATCHED 9:55 P.M. - CLEARED 10:46 P.M. HOCKLEYCOUNTY The LFD received a call regarding a downed power line on a metal fence in the 2600 block of Robert Lee Street. The call advised the fence was glowing orange. While a fire unit was enroute, dispatch notified Lamb Co Electric to respond as well. Fire personnel observed the fence with electric lines across it while glowing orange and electrified. Fire personnel kept the area clear of people and animals while Lamb Co Electrict de-energized the electric line.
