Levelland Fire Report

5/15/2023 – DISPATCH 7:05 AM – CLEARED 7:20 AM – LEVELLAND

The police department requested assistance with gaining entry to a vehicle at the Levelland Post Office. Fire personnel responded to the location and assisted officers with gaining entry to the vehicle.

5/14/2023 – DISPATCH 9:06 PM – CLEARED 9:30 PM – LEVELLAND

The fire department was dispatched to the 100 block of Oak Street in reference to a gas leak. Fire personnel contacted Atmos Energy while enroute to the location. Upon arrival, fire personnel shut off the gas and locked out the meter. Atmos Energy advised the estimated time of arrival would be 45 minutes.

5/14/2023 – DISPATCH 3:40 PM – CLEARED 4:27 PM – HOCKLEYCOUNTY

The fire department responded to the intersection of N Barton Lane and E State Highway 114 regarding a vehicle fire. The report states a citizen stopped and used a fire extinguisher before fire personnel arrived. Upon arrival, fire personnel sprayed down the hot and smoldering parts on the vehicle before clearing the scene.

5/13/2023 – DISPATCH 2:18 PM – CLEARED 3:08 PM – HOCKLEYCOUNTY

The fire department was dispatched to Wright Collision on the 2400 block of E State Highway 114 regarding a vehicle fire. Upon arrival, a vehicle’s engine compartment was fully engulfed. Fire personnel extinguished the fire and returned to the station.

5/11/2023 – DISPATCH 7:41 AM – CLEARED 8:15 AM – LEVELLAND

The police department requested traffic control at the intersection of E State Highway 114 and N College Avenue.

5/11/2023 – DISPATCH 7:02 AM – CLEARED 7:14 AM – LEVELLAND

The fire department received a call from the police department informing fire personnel of a child locked in a vehicle on the 1000 block of Alamo Road. Fire personnel were able to gain entry to the vehicle.

5/9/2023 – DISPATCH 11:20 PM – CLEARED 11:30 PM – LEVELLAND

The fire department received a call reporting a smoke smell at a residence on the 200 block of Avenue B. Upon arrival and after an investigation, fire personnel did not find any smoke in the residence.

5/9/2023 – DISPATCH 5:54 PM – CLEARED 6:20 PM – LEVELLAND The fire department received a call reporting a dumpster fire on the 100 block of South College Avenue. Upon arrival, fire personnel found the dumpster smoking and extinguished it before returning to the station,

5/9/2023 – DISPATCH 8:30 AM – CLEARED 8:50 AM – HOCKLEYCOUNTY

The fire department received reports of a grass fire on the 2400 block of East State Highway 114 near Smith Auto Family Levelland. Upon arrival, fire personnel extinguished a bar ditch fire.

5/9/2023 – DISPATCH – 5:28 AM – CLEARED 5:50 AM – LEVELLAND

The fire department was dispatched to a commercial fire alarm on the 700 block of East State Highway 114. Fire personnel contacted the business and was advised there was no fire, but assistance was needed to reset the fire alarm. Upon arrival, fire personnel reset the fire alarm.

5/8/2023 – DISPATCH 4:50 PM – CLEARED 5:58 PM – LEVELLAND

The fire department received reports on someone burning in their backyard on the 300 block of Walnut Street. Upon arrival, fire personnel found a resident to be burning trash and advised them that burning was not allowed in the city limits and the fire needed to be put out.

5/6/2023 – DISPATCH 3:24 PM – CLEARED 3:26 PM – HOCKLEYCOUNTY

The fire department received a call reporting an unknown type of fire on the 900 block of Robin Road, Hockley County. The fire department were immediately called back and were cancelled by dispatch.

5/6/2023 – DISPATCH 4:48 PM – CLEARED5:46 PM – HOCKLEYCOUNTY

The fire department received a call reporting a wreck at East FM 1585 and Quail Road, Hockley County. Upon arrival, fire personnel conducted an investigation and found all occupants were out of the vehicle. Fire personnel remained at the scene until being released to the Hockley County Sheriff’s Office.

5/6/2023 – DISPATCH: 5:14 PM – CLEARED: 5:30 PM – LEVELLAND

The fire department received a call stating there was a sprinkler leaking at Starbucks. Upon arrival, fire personnel found it to be a yard sprinkler and contacted the water department to shut off the water.
