Levelland Fire Report

11/29/22 - DISPATCH - 1:16 PM - CLEARED - 2:30 PM LEVELLAND Atmos Energy requested the fire department to stand by while they fixed a live gas line in the 1900 block of Avenue I.

11/25/22 - DISPATCH - 5:33 PM - CLEARED - 6:10 PM LEVELLAND The fire department received a call from the Levelland PD stating there was a car on fire at 17th Street and Avenue T. The entire car was fully involved requiring fire personnel to extinguish the fire with Class B foam.

11/23/22 - DISPATCH 4:33 PM - CLEARED 4:48 PM HOCKLEY Dispatch informed the fire department of a call referencing a small grass fire located at FM 300 and Kelly Road. Fire crew found a small burnt area in the bar ditch where the fire was. Crew wet down the area before clearing the area.

11/22/22 - DISPATCH 4:25 PM - CLEARED 4:43 PM LEVELLAND The department received a call referencing an unknown type of fire at the 200 block of Redwood Lane. Upon arrival, fire personnel found a resident burning a pile of leaves in an alley way. The fire was extinguished and the residents were informed they could not burn in the city.

11/22/22 - DISPATCH 11:37 AM - CLEARED 1:13 PM HOCKLEY Dispatch reported an 18-wheeler jack knifed at the intersection of W Highway 114 and FM 303 resulting in fuel leaking. The department contacted TxDot while en route and found the driver to be out of the vehicle as the diesel tank was pierced leaking diesel in the ditch.

11/20/22 – DISPATCH 5:40 PM – CLEARED 6:40 PM – HOCKLEY

The fire department received a call from dispatch in regard to a multivehicle wreck at N Highway 385 and E Highway 114. Four vehicles were involved. Fire units provided traffic control as extrication was not needed.

11/16/22 – DISPATCH 12:06 AM – CLEARED 12:26 PM – LEVELLAND

A dispatch report of carbon monoxide detector going off at the 100 block of Elgin Avenue. Upon arrival, the monitor was still activated. Fire personnel could not find a source.

11/15/22 – DISPATCH 8:13 PM – CLEARED 8:32 PM – LEVELLAND

The department received a call in reference to a three-year-old child locked inside of a vehicle at the 1000 block of S Alamo. A wrecking service, Levelland PD and fire personnel gained access to the locked door. No injuries were reported.

11/14/22 – DISPATCH 6:30 PM – CLEARED 9:09 PM – HOCKLEY

A call from LPD dispatch requested the aid of the fire department after a mult-vehicle wreck located at W 1585 and Highway 385

11/17/22 – DISPATCH 1:39 PM – CLEARED 2 PM – HOCKLEY

The fire department received a request for assistance from the Levelland PD at the 1300 block of E Highway 114 to get into an ATM. Upon arrival, the department assisted multiple agencies and found the ATM to be inoperable.

11/16/22 DISPATCH 10:26 AM – CLEARED 10:50 AM – LEVELLAND

The fire department received a call from Levelland PD in reference to multiple individuals stuck in an elevator. Units responded to the area in the 200 block of N College Avenue finding two employees of the business stuck in the elevator. LFD personnel managed to open the doors with the elevator keys.

11/16/22 – DISPATCH 12:06 AM – CLEARED 12:26 AM – LEVELLAND

The fire department received a call from dispatch in reference to a carbon monoxide detector going off at a residence in the 100 block of Elgin Avenue. After arrival, the detector was still active. Fire personnel combed through the house looking for traces of carbon monoxide but did not find anything. Residents of the household were advised to monitor their surroundings and contact the department of any changes.
