Levelland Fire Report

6/28/2023 – DISPATCH 7:49 PM – CLEARED 8:00 PM – LEVELLAND

The fire department was dispatched to an alley on the 1000 block of 11 th Street after receiving reports of a dumpster fire. Upon arrival, trash was found burning in a receptacle. Fire personnel extinguished the fire before returning to the station.

6/27/2023 – DISPATCH 5:20 PM – CLEARED 5:32 PM – HOCKLEYCOUNTY

The Levelland Fire Department responded to a small grass fire near Rover Road and West State Highway 114. Upon arrival, the fire was out and fire personnel wet down the area.

6/27/2023 – DISPATCH 9:02 AM – CLEARED 9:45 AM – HOCKLEYCOUNTY

The police department advised the fire department of a residential fire alarm on the 6700 block of Trump Court. Smyer Volunteer Fire Department was requested to respond but were unable to do so. Upon arrival, Levelland fire personnel observed Wolfforth Fire Department on the scene and were informed there were no signs of a residential fire.

6/26/2023 – DISPATCH 9:50 PM – CLEARED 12:29 AM – LEVELLAND

The fire department received reports of a motorcycle and a vehicle crash near 13 th Street and Avenue E. Upon arrival, fire personnel assisted Emergency Medical Services with CPR and transport. Fire personnel then aided the police department by providing light onto the scene.

6/23/2023 – DISPATCH 9:06 PM – CLEARED 9:50 PM – LEVELLAND

The fire department received a call stating that someone had hit a gas line. Upon arrival, fire personnel found a resident on the 100 block of Hickory Street building a fence. While digging, the resident exposed an old gas line which was leaking. Fire personnel contacted Atmos Energy and returned to the station upon their arrival.

6/25/2023 – DISPATCH 3:11 PM – CLEARED 3:40 PM –

HOCKLEYCOUNTY

The Levelland fire department received a call in reference to black smoke in the area of Veretto Road and the 2300 block of East Ellis Street. The caller was unable to identify an exact location. Upon arrival, a Sheriff’s Deputy and fire personnel were unable to locate any smoke or fire near the reported area. The report states the area was searched for several minutes before returning to the station.

6/20/2023 – DISPATCH 1:06 AM – CLEARED 2:02 AM – LEVELLAND

The fire department was dispatched to a multiple vehicle wreck on College Avenue near CVS. Upon arrival, EMS were already assessing the occupants of the vehicles. Fire personnel blocked South bound traffic until the cars had been moved by a wrecker and the debris was cleared. 6/17/2023 – DISPATCH 1:42 PM – CLEARED 1:53PM–LEVELLAND

The fire department was dispatched to the 100 block of Gary Avenue in regards to a carbon monoxide detector being set off. Upon arrival, the homeowner advised fire personnel it was a faulty or dead battery, and she was able to turn it off. Fire personnel checked for carbon monoxide in the living and kitchen area before returning to service.

6/16/2023 – DISPATCH 2:13 PM – CLEARED 2:25 PM LEVELLAND The fire department received a call regarding a child locked in a running vehicle on the 100 block of 4 th Street. The dispatcher also contacted Bush Wrecker Service to respond. Upon arrival, Bush Wrecker had arrived to the scene and was able to unlock the vehicle and remove the child without any complications.

6/16/2023 – DISPATCH 6:00 AM – CLEARED 6:22 AM – HOCKLEYCOUNTY

The police department received a call from a reporting party stating his carbon monoxide monitor had gone off while he was driving between Kelly Road and FM 303 on Highway 114. Fire personnel drove the area and were unable to detect carbon monoxide.
