Levelland Fire Report

7/31/2023 - DISPATCH 4:09 P.M. - CLEARED 6:35 P.M. HOCKLEYCOUNTY The Levelland Police Department advised the Levelland Fire Department of a one-vehicle rollover with one ejected and one trapped in the vehicle at the 3000 block of Sunrise Lane. Upon arrival, units found one walking and one still inside the vehicle. Fire personnel assisted Levelland EMS load one patient and stood by until Aerocare landed as the other individual was transported. Units remained on scene waiting for the wrecker service.

7/29/2023 - DISPATCH 7:54 P.M. - CLEARED 10:40 P.M. HOCKLEYCOUNTY The Levelland Fire Department received a report of a grassfire in the area of Juneau Road and America Road. Upon arrival, fire personnel noticed the fire had nearly burned out.

7/28/2023 - DISPATCH 10:36 A.M. - CLEARED 10:55 A.M. HOCKLEYCOUNTY The Levelland Fire Department received reports of a fire in the county near the 200 block of Crestview Street. Units were dispatched to check the area due to reports of a controlled burn in the area. Once the fire was determined to be a control burn, the units made contact and returned to the station.

7/27/2023 - DISPATCH 10:21 P.M. - CLEARED 10:58 P.M. LEVELLAND A resident located at the 600 block of Poplar Street heard a pop and smelled a smoke that could have possibly been an electrical issue. Units checked the area and found the motor on the A/C blower was the issue. The house was checked for any heat and advised the residence to contact a repairman.

7/25/2023 – DISPATCH 2:22 P.M. – CLEARED 2:43 P.M. – LEVELLAND

The Levelland Fire Department was requested to provide assistance by Levelland EMS to help lift a patient at the 900 block of Alamo Road. Once lifted, the patient refused EMS transport, and everyone cleared the scene.

7/25/2023 – DISPATCH 1:38 P.M. – CLEARED 1:43 P.M. – LEVELLAND

Levelland Fire Department personnel were dispatched to the USA Apartments in regard to a possible structure fire. While enroute, personnel were advised the call downgraded and canceled.

7/21/2023 - DISPATCH 7:45 P.M. - CLEARED 8:01 P.M. LEVELLAND The Levelland Fire Department received a report of a possible structure fire located on the block of 10th Street and West Avenue. Once on scene, fire personnel could not see smoke or fire showing from the building. After looking through the building, it was decided there was no fire and the area was cleared.

7/21/2023 - DISPATCH 2:08 P.M. - CLEARED 3:40 P.M. LEVELLAND Fire personnel responded to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of E Highway 114 and Veretto Road. Fire personnel assisted Levelland EMS with first aid then focused on providing traffic control.

7/21/2023 - DISPATCH 10:22 A.M. - CLEARED 10:44 A.M. LEVELLAND Levelland EMS requested assistance from the Levelland Fire Department on Austin Street due to lack of man power and simultaneous calls.

7/21/2023 - DISPATCH 7:40 A.M. - CLEARED 8:45 A.M. LEVELLAND The Levelland Fire Department received a call from the Levelland Police Department requiring multiple fans to clear out tear gas from a residence located at the 600 block of Austin Street.

7/20/2023 - DISPATCH 5:03 P.M. - CLEARED 5:42 P.M. LEVELLAND Levelland fire personnel were dispatched to the Penny Newmen due to smoldering. Upon arrival, personnel aided in fire suppression before clearing the scene.

7/15/2023 - DISPATCH - 4:58 P.M. - CLEARED - 5:03 P.M. HOCKLEYCOUNTY Levelland Fire Department personnel were dispatched to the 800 block of Lovebird Road in reference to a fire. The Smyer Fire Department notified the LFD their services were not needed.

7/14/2023 - DISPATCH - 9:19 P.M. - CLEARED - 9:56 P.M. LEVELLAND The Levelland Fire Department received a call from a resident within the 700 block of Poplar Street referencing the smell of gas coming from an area of their home. Upon arrival, fire personnel investigated the situation and determined the smell was emitting from an oil well in the area that was leaking. The proper agency was contacted and advised firefighters they would handle the issue the next morning as everything was still safe.

7/14/2023 - DISPATCH - 7:19 P.M. - CLEARED 10:22 P.M. LEVELLAND The Levelland Fire Department received a call from the Levelland Police Department that there was a house fully involved located in the 1300 block of 2nd Street. After arrival, fire personnel observed a carport on the property on fire and a portion of the home. All residents within the home were out of the home and the fire was extinguished.

7/13/2023 - DISPATCH 6:17 P.M. - CLEARED 7:05 P.M. LEVELLAND Levelland fire personnel responded to a vehicle wreck at the intersection of 2nd Street and S. College Avenue. Upon arrival, two vehicles were involved with damage and all victims had been extricated from the vehicles. The LFD assisted Levelland EMS with loading patients and assisted the Levelland Police Department with traffic control.

7/12/2023 - DISPATCH - 7:51 PM - CLEARED - 8:15 P.M. HOCKLEYCOUNTY The Levelland Police Department received a call regarding a small grass fire located at the intersection of South FM303 and FM 300. Upon arrival, fire personnel found what was possibly a controlled burn, but there was nobody watching the burn. The fire was extinguished before returning to the station.

7/11/2023 - DISPATCH 2:56 P.M. - CLEARED 3:08 P.M. LEVELLAND Fire personnel was dispatched to the 2100 block of Tech Drive in regard to a gas leak. Upon arrival, Atmos personnel were already on the scene. The leak was plugged before returning to the station.

7/9/2023 - DISPATCH 2:43 P.M. - CLEARED 3:03 P.M. LEVELLAND Levelland EMS requested the assistance of fire personnel at 1700 block of Mckinley Street in reference to lift assistance.

7/8/2023 - DISPATCH 8:36 P.M. - CLEARD 9:20 P.M. HOCKLEYCOUNTY The Levelland Fire Department received a call from dispatch regarding an RV on fire in the City of Anton at the 3600 block of Howard Road. While enroute, fire personnel were canceled by the Anton Fire Department and returned to the station.

7/6/2023 – DISPATCH 6:28 PM – CLEARED 7:32 PM – LEVELLAND

The fire department received a call reporting someone trapped at the car was on the 500 block East State Highway 114. Upon arrival, a witness on the scene advised fire personnel that one of the workers were trapped in the chain that moves the cars. Fire units unassembled the car wash machine and extracted one victim from the chair before EMS transported the patient.

7/6/2023 – DISPATCH 3:41 PM – CLEARED 3:57 PM – HOCKLEYCOUNTY

The fire department received reports of a grass fire near Nightingale Road and Elk Road. Levelland fire units responded but were canceled by Smyer Volunteer Fire Department before arrival.

7/6/2023 – DISPATCH 3:30 PM – CLEARED 3:40 PM – LEVELLAND

The fire department received a call reporting a possible gas leak on the1800 block of Avenue I. Fire units were canceled while en route.

7/6/2023 – DISPATCH 3:05 PM – CLEARED 3:20 PM – HOCKLEYCOUNTY

EMS requested fire unit to respond to a motor vehicle accident on the 800 block of North US Highway 385. Fire units provided assistance until no longer needed.

7/6/2023 – DISPATCH 10:21 AM – CLEARED 1:02 PM – HOCKLEYCOUNTY

Smyer Volunteer Fire Department requested assistance on a rekindled structure fire on the 6500 block of Deer Road.

7/5/2023 – DISPATCH 12:19 AM – CLEARED 5:00 AM – HOCKLEYCOUNTY

The fire department was requested for mutual aide on a structure fire on the 6500 block of Deer Road. Upon arrival, Levelland fire personnel helped Smyer fire personnel extinguish the residence. Once the scene was controlled, all units returned to the station.

7/5/2023 – DISPATCH 12:01 AM – CLEARED 1:19 AM – LEVELLAND

The Levelland Fire Department was dispatched to the 1200 block of Equalizer Road after receiving reports of a grassfire at the Oxy Sports Complex. Upon arrival, fire personnel observed a fire inside the gates of the complex before opening the gates and beginning to extinguish the fire. The report states units stayed on the scene until all fire and smoldering objects had been extinguished.

7/4/2023 – DISPATCH 11:50 PM – CLEARED 12:07 AM – HOCKLEYCOUNTY

The fire department was dispatched to a possible fire on the 1800 block of Ironman Road. Upon arrival, fire personnel made contact with the landowner and was advised it was a control burn and he did not have his phone on him.

7/4/2023 – DISPATCH 10:45 PM – CLEARED 10:52 PM – HOCKLEYCOUNTY

The fire department was dispatched to the 1400 block of Cactus Drive after receiving report of a dumpster fire at South Plains Church. Upon arrival, fire personnel found a dumpster on fire with fireworks still ignited and extinguished the fire before returning to the station.

7/4/2023 – DISPATCH 10:39 PM – CLEARED 10:49 PM – HOCKLEYCOUNTY

The fire department was dispatched to a reported grassfire at the intersection of County Road and Ellis Road. Upon arrival, fire personnel searched the area and were unable to locate any signs of a fire.

7/4/2023 – DISPATCH 9:44 PM – CLEARED 10:15 PM – HOCKLEYCOUNTY

The fire department was dispatched to a small grass fire at the intersection of Alaska Road and Country Road. Upon arrival, fire personnel found a small grassfire in the bar ditch and extinguished the fire before returning to the station.

7/3/2023 – DISPATCH 6:34 PM – CLEARED 6:49 PM – LEVELLAND

The fire department received a call regarding a fire alarm in a Meadow Rose apartment on the1000 block of Alamo Road. Upon arrival, fire personnel found the apartment to be empty with a pan left on the stove. Fire personnel checked the unit for heat before determining everything was normal.
