Levelland Fire Report

12/18/22 - DISPATCH 5:12 AM - CLEARED 5:26 AM LEVELLAND The fire department received a call that a residence in the 1700 block of Avenue G had a smoke detector going off and the resident requested units check the alarm. Upon arrival, personnel replaced the batteries in the alarm.

12/15/22 – DISPATCH 8:23 PM – CLEARED 10:12 PM – HOCKLEYCOUNTY

The fire department received a call referencing to two piles of cotton on fire on the ground in a field near the 1300 block of S Barton Lane and Cactus Road. The land, property own requested the fire department travel to the area and extinguish the fire.

12/14/22 – DISPATCH 6:59 PM – CLEARED 10:16 PM – LEVELLAND

The fire department was requested for assistance at the intersection of US Highway 385 and W FM 1585 by EMS. Fire personnel worked on the extrication of one occupant and assisted in patient care.

12/14/22 – DISPATCH – 10:47 AM – CLEARED 3:34 PM – HOCKLEYCOUNTY

The fire department received a call regarding a structure fire in the 6700 block of Fox Road with a possible victim inside. Upon arrival, the structure was fully engulfed and fire units worked to extinguish the fire and pull down the collapsed parts of the structure to expose the deceased. State fire marshals responded to the scene and released the fire units.

12/12/22 – DISPATCH – 6:35 AM – CLEARED 7:15 AM – HOCKLEYCOUNTY

The fire department received a call referencing a powerline arcing at the intersection of Boston Road and America Road. Dispatch contacted Excel as fire units stood by.

12/10/22 – DISPATCH – 6:10 PM – CLEARED – 6:17 PM – LEVELLAND

The department received a call from dispatch regarding a fire alarm going off in the 1500 block of 5th St. Units were canceled due to someone pulling the alarm.

10/10/22 – DISPATCH – 1:16 PM – CLEARED – 1:35 PM – LEVELLAND

The fire department received a call from dispatch in reference to a resident in the 100 block of S Cedar Avenue smelling gas in their home and requested a home check. Upon arrival, fire personnel found the house to have smoke inside and the resident had something melting on the stove top. The stove was turned off and allowed the smoke to clear from the residence.

12/9/22 – DISPATCH 11:41 AM – CLEARED 11:43 AM – LEVELLAND Fire department units were dispatched to the 900 block of Alamo Road as EMS requested assistance with opening a door that had a dead bolt. Units were canceled by dispatch while responding to the area.

12/5/22 – DISPATCH 12:48 PM – CLEARED 1:34 PM – LEVELLAND

The fire department was requested for traffic control at the intersection of Avenue H and E Highway 114.

12/5/22 – DISPATCH 11:10 AM – CLEARED 11:28 AM – LEVELLAND

The fire department received a report of a homeowner in the 200 block of Austin Street burning material in their backyard. The owner was advised that is not allowed in the city limits and the fire was put out.

12/3/22 – DISPATCH 10:39 AM – CLEARED 1:35 PM – HOCKLEY COUNTY

Fire units were dispatched to the intersection of Chickadee Road and W FM 1585 regarding a wreck. Upon arrival, all patients were removed from the vehicles. After assisting EMS with patient movement and treatment, units remained on scene due to leaking diesel.

12/2/22 – DISPATCH 6:17 PM – CLEARED 8:15 PM – HOCKLEY COUNTY

The fire department received a call from dispatch in reference to a residential fire alarm located in the 5000 block of Iowa Road. Upon arrival, smoke and flames were visible from outside the residence. Once entered, smoke and flames were coming from the kitchen area. A stove fire was extinguished, and the smoke was cleared out.

12/2/22 – DISPATCH 2:28 PM – CLEARED 3:26 PM – WHITHARRAL

The fire department received a call from dispatch referencing a cotton stripper fire west of Whitharral near Norway Road and N Alamo Road. Fire units responded to the area and put out what cotton was on fire and cleaned out the machine.

12/2/22 – DISPATCH 9:51 AM – CLEARED 10:13 AM – LEVELLAND

Levelland EMS requested the assistance of the fire department to enter an apartment located in the 900 block of Alamo Road. Fire units responded to the location and entered the rear of the residence. EMS assisted the patient; the entry way was secured, and fire personnel notified the property manager of the forceable entry.

12/1/22 – DISPATCH 9:09 AM – CLEARED 11 AM – LEVELLAND

The fire department received a call referencing a fire inside a residence in the 1800 block of Houston Street. Upon arrival, fire personnel found fire exposed from the windows and doors. The residents were removed from the structure with one individual transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation. Units remained on scene until it was cleared.
