LHS All Class Extravaganza slated Oct. 20-22

The LHS Super Reunion Facebook planning committee is planning a multi-year reunion event for 20-21 Oct, 2022. All classes are invited to this series of events including spouses and significant others are welcome to attend all events.

Multiple events for three days are planned and will begin with a mix and mingle for early arrivals on Thursday, October 20, at The Republic of Texas to begin at 7 p.m. with food and drinks.

Thursday afternoon will be available for those who wish to spend time with old friends playing golf may do so, with no minimums required. Hopeful to field 20 to 30 fourperson teams. Mulligans and string available. A beverage cart will be provided and trophies and prizes for long drive, closest to pin and winners will be presented. Friday will feature downtown shopping and a scavenger hunt event, in the style of the Sip and Swirl event. The streets will be blocked off beginning at noon, to allow for unrestricted foot traffic. There will be games on the square for those not participating in shopping or simply taking a break. Tours of the Wallace may be scheduled for the out- of- towners attending the events. The Friday night Lobo football game against Borger will be preceded by an introduction of the classes present starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Lobo Stadium.

Saturday afternoon will feature a car show at the Mallett Event Center from 3 p.m. untl 5 p.m. with first, second and third place cash prizes to be awarded.

Raffle baskets may be viewed at that time as well. In addition to all the events, the Class of ‘76, will be holding a separate event in the Mallet, from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday’s main event will be held at the Mallet, with doors opening at 6 p.m. with cocktails and social hour and dinner starting at 7 p.m. Drawings for the raffle baskets will be held throughout the evening. A photo booth will also be available throughout the evening.

A private concert will begin at 9 p.m. for the reunion attendees only, featuring the No. 1 George Straight impersonator, Brent Brunson. Brunson is endorsed by George Straight and frequently performs with George’s band.

Saturday evenings dinner and dance will be $30 per person in advance through the end of August; $35 per person if paid in September or October; and $40 per person at the door. To register, please send payment and your name and class to LHS Reunion, C/O Russell Vest, 504 Clubview, Levelland Texas, 79336. Each dinner ticket will receive 10 raffle tickets. There will be drawings for raffle baskets throughout the evening. Additional raffle tickets may be purchased during the car show and during the dinner. All proceeds of the raffle tickets will be donated to the Marigolds; the Marigolds will assist with registration and selling raffle tickets. For those who are not attending the dinner, may still purchase raffle tickets via Facebook, email or from the Marigolds.

Pictures of the raffle basket contents will be posted on Facebook as they become available.

Arranging for pickup or delivery of your basket will be your responsibility if you are not present.

The LHS Super Reunion Facebook planning committee consists of: Jana Vardeman Diamond, Mary Allen Engledow, Karen McCollough Pena, Renea Tindel Hendrickson, Bobby Roberts and Russell and Angie Vest.

The leadership of this committee has led this effort through multiple iterations and would like to see the formation of an Alumni Association, Booster Club, or other local group to take over this effort.
