Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar sent cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose districts $1.1 billion in local sales tax allocations for January, 3.3% more than in January 2023.
The allocations are based on sales made in November by businesses that report tax monthly.
Cities received $699.3 million for January 2024 allocations which is a 3.7% increase from January 2023.
Transit Systems received $232.6 million for January 2024 allocations which is a 2.3% increase from January 2023.
Counties received $67.9 million for January 2024 allocations which is a 2.1% increase from January 2023.
Special Purpose Districts received $104.7 million for January 2024 allocations which is a 4.1% increase from January 2023.
The January sales tax payment received for Levelland totaled $474,077.08, a decrease of .80% over the $385,331.66 received in January 2023.
The January sales tax payment received for Sundown totaled $38,374.27, a decrease of .92% over the $38,731.54 received in January 2023.
The January sales tax payment received for Smyer totaled $6,471.03, a 36.45% increase of the $4,742,36 received in January 2023.
The January sales tax payment received for Ropesville totaled $11,476.77, a 7.58% decrease of the $12,481.56 received in January 2023.
The January sales tax payment received for Anton totaled $7,419.50, a 10.24% decrease of the $8,266.66 received in January 2023.
The January sales tax payment received for Opdyke West totaled $423.42, a .22% decrease over the $424.38 received in January 2023.
The January sales tax payment received for Morton totaled $12,642.53, a 1.63% increase over the $12,439.32 received in January 2023.
The January sales tax payment received for Whiteface totaled $2,866.69, a 20.53% increase over the $2,378.27 received in January 2023.
