Lt Gov Dan Patrick makes campaign stop

Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick made his way to Levelland on Tuesday during his 131-bus tour that started in August.

The Lt. Gov made an appearance at the 509 restaurant on N College Avenue. Shaking hands and having conversation with roughly 50 people in the building, Lt. Gov Patrick spoke about the importance of having people close to him that he can trust.

Being unfamiliar with west Texas at one point, he soon become understanding of the people that lived in the area and one person who he is confident in that understands the issues the people within this area are having is Chairman Charles Perry of the Senate Committee on Water, Agriculture and Rural Affairs.

He explained that he is currently on the road doing his 131-bus tour as a part of the election that is going on.

Admittedly, Lt. Gov Patrick explained that it’s a closer election than it should be but factors such as COVID-19, the state’s electrical grid, the Uvalde shooting have played a role in making the race a bit tighter than anticipated. He explained that these terrible events are unfortunate, and that the legislation isn’t at fault, but he is confident that will pull through and take the election at the end of it. When it comes to the election, he emphasized how big the blue counties are as it consists of the heavily populated areas in east Texas. However, the goal is to incorporate rural Texas and make sure the less dense red areas are taken care of and heard according to the governor. “Rural America is where our values are still strong,” said Lt. Gov Patrick. “We’re the America that old America used to be.”
