Lubbock TxDOT district plans virtual public meeting, May 17

Texas Department of Transportation will be presenting a virtual public meeting for the proposed 2025-2028 Rural Transportation Improvement Program (Rural TIP) for the Lubbock TxDOT District. No inperson meeting will be held.

The pre-recorded presentation will be available for viewing beginning at 1 p.m., Friday, May 17 and includes a video presentation and comment opportunity. Citizens can view the presentation and meeting materials, on the TxDOT website (SEARCH: Lubbock Rural TIP) through May 28, 2024. The presentation includes both audio and visual components.

The purpose of this virtual public meeting is to receive comments on proposed projects included in the 2025-2028 Rural TIP for the Lubbock TxDOT District. The Lubbock District includes Bailey, Castro, Cochran, Crosby, Dawson, Floyd, Gaines, Garza, Hale, Hockley, Lamb, Lubbock, Lynn, Parmer, Swisher, Terry, and Yoakum counties.

The Rural TIP includes all regionally significant projects to be funded within a TxDOT District during the next four years, including those eligible for funding. As such, this virtual public meeting offers the public an opportunity to review and comment on the proposed priorities. A project in the Rural TIP is a project coming to your community. The Rural TIP is the first step on the road to producing a Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP). Comments can be made until Tuesday, May 28, 2024 to: Texas Department of Transportation, Lubbock District, Attn: TPD Rural TIP, 135 Slaton Hwy, Lubbock, TX, 79404-5201; by email to LBB_Projects@txdot.gov, Subject Line: FY 2025-2028 Rural TIP Comment; or by submitting your comments online.

If you do not have internet access or have general questions regarding the proposed projects or the virtual public meeting, please contact Kristi Schwartz, Planner, 806-748-4435 or by email Kristi.Schwartz@txdot.gov.
