The Main Street Board had an important meeting last week in City Hall to prepare for the new fiscal year beginning this month.
This was the last meeting for departing board members Aryn Corley, Valentina Soto, and Angie Vest. It was also the last meeting that would see Smith Auto Family’s Nicole Campbell as Board President; The position will be filled by Melita Atchison of Atchison’s Jewelry come next meeting in October. Three new board members were also welcomed on board for their terms: Brent Wheeler, Carrie DeArmond, and Kimberley Young.
The Trunk or Treat in Downtown Levelland is expected to be big this year, and will occur on October 31st from 6-8 p.m. downtown. The Hockley County Endowment also awarded Main Street $3,750 in funds to help procure more handrails around the square.
