Levelland ISD has announced that Laurie Jones has been named principal of Levelland Middle School. She is a Levelland native went through the Levelland school system. After high school, Jones attended South Plains College. She obtained her Associate Degree before graduating from Texas Tech University with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education with a minor in history. She completed her collegiate studies after obtaining her Masters Degree in Educational Administration. Laurie began her teaching career in LISD at the old junior high school, teaching 8th and 9th grade history. She taught history for 22 years and then became an assistant principal at Levelland Middle School for the last seven years. She was named the Levelland Middle School Principal in May of this year. Jones says, “I am incredibly excited to have the opportunity to continue to work with our students in a new capacity. As principal, I will continue to create an atmosphere of trust, positivity, communication, diversity, and safety at Levelland Middle School. I am looking forward to meeting and getting to know our incoming students and continuing to build strong relationships with returning students. I am eager to welcome our parents as partners in their children’s education, and I am strongly committed to ensuring that all children are learning and growing academically.
