One Levelland death, one injured following crash

A one-vehicle rollover in Hockley County resulted in one death and one with non-life threatening injuries Sunday afternoon.

A report from the Department of Transportation stated Angel Roman Solis, 18-years-of-age of Levelland was pronounced dead after being transported to University Medical Center in Lubbock by Aerocare, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The report states that Solis was operating the vehicle as it was traveling west on sunrise Lane, roughly two-and-a-half miles northeast of Levelland.

While traveling down the road, the vehicle drifted into the south ditch before Solis turned the wheel to the right causing the car to lose control and roll before coming to its final rest.

The passenger, Andrew James Riddle, 19-years-of-age of Levelland was transported to Covenant Hospital Levelland by Levelland EMS with non-lifethreatening injuries.

The report states both individuals were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.

Levelland ISD released a statement issuing their condolences and prayers to the Solis family as Solis graduated from LISD this previous school year.
