According to DPS reports a single-vehicle crash left one man dead, and two passengers injured along U.S. Highway 62, Thursday. around 4:45 p.m.
The report states a 2014 Isuzu Ascender was traveling Southwest six miles North of Ropesville.
The vehicle swerved for an unknown reason, hitting the ditch and entering into a side-skid. The vehicle rolled over several times, ejecting one passenger who was not wearing a seatbelt. The vehicle came to a rest on its head with the ejected passenger, Daniel Alvarado, 66, of Brownfield, deceased.
The driver, Santiago Miranda, 69, of Brownfield and passenger Felix Cerna, 73, of Lubbock were both transported to UMC in Lubbock with serious injuries. Alvarado was pronounced dead on the scene by Justice of the Peace Wendi McNabb.
