Following the end of May 28, the unofficial totals for the Primary Election runoff results were announced by the Hockley County Elections Office and the Cochran County Elections Office.
For Hockley County voters, the two runoff races included the Hockley County Sheriff’s position and the Hockley County Commissioner of Precinct One position.
The Hockley County Sheriff’s position was between Jared W. Dockery and Chris Wischkaemper. The total listed had 912 votes for Wischkaemper and 785 votes for Dockery.
In the Hockley County Commissioners Precinct One position was between Curtis Thrash and Alan Wisdom. The total listed had 357 votes for Thrash and 475 votes for Wisdom. For Cochran County voters, there was one runoff race which was the Cochran County Commissioner of Precinct Three position.
The candidates for the race were Kris Brown and Sammy Garza. The total listed has Brown with 80 votes and Garza with 75.
All candidates who were elected will be sworn in and begin their terms in January.
