According to the Department of Public Safety and Wolforth Police Department, a single vehicle rollover occurred around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday on Highway 62/82 near Wolforth that left one Ropesville student dead, and another injured.
According to preliminary information, an 18-year-old driving a Chevrolet Silverado overturned near an overpass after coming in contact with a portion of ice on the road.
The driver in that wreck was transported to the hospital, while the passenger was pronounced dead due to injuries sustained.
Ropes ISD released the following statement which was obtained by KCBD, “Ropes ISD is asking for the prayers of our community and the surrounding communities as we mourn the loss of one of our kids, who passed in a car accident this morning. We all know that our kids lives are precious and each child is loved. Every child of God is valued and we are extremely saddened by this loss. We pray for this family, the school and the community.”
