The Ropes Eagles hosted the Post Antelopes this past Tuesday at home for district basketball play where the team won 84-31.
The first quarter of the game had Ropes taking the early lead outscoring the Antelopes 30-6. The team could not be stopped inside the paint as they had 22 of their 30 points come from down low.
The second quarter of play was more of the same as the Eagles had another 15 points fall for them while they only allowed another six points to fall for Post.
The score at the half was Ropes leading the Antelopes 4512, holding a 33 point lead.
Leading the Eagles in scoring at the halftime break was Landon Nale as he had 16 points, 12 of them coming from under the basket.
Going into the third quarter of play Ropes kept adding to the fire as they outscored the Antelopes 18-11 in the third quarter to extend their lead to 40 going into the fourth quarter of play.
For the final quarter of play the Eagles won the game by a big margin as they put the final touches on the game, outscoring Post 21-8.
Nale led the team in scoring on the night with 24 points throughout the night, 20 of his points from inside the paint.
Kade Franklin had another 21 points for the team, Brady Bryan had 15, Brennan Bearden and Darren Kizer both had eight points a piece, Cutter Stumbo had three and Branson Simental and Bode Franklin both had two points each in the teams win.
The Ropes Eagles progress to 21-7 on the season while going up to 6-3 in district play sitting in third place.
The Eagles last game in district play is against the Sundown Roughnecks this Tuesday as the visiting team at 6:15 p.m.
